This shot shows something of just how clear the
lake water is
As this picture shows, there were a lot of clouds; the lake would
alternately be in shadow and sunshine--sometimes both!
The rim road circles the crater. In this
picture, the lake is unseen to the left. To the right you're looking
down on the foothills of the Cascades, showing just how high you are
when you finally climb up to Crater Lake.
